Nomad Drive Cooking: Stove, Pan & Chicken

Place chicken in the pan, start the stove and follow Raw, Mid Cooked and Cooked labels rather than a fixed timer.

THE SHORT ANSWER

Start with a working stove and pan. Position the drumstick over the pan until its outline turns green, release it, operate the stove control and wait for the green Cooked label.

Set up the pan and food

Begin with an already usable stove and pan, plus a raw Drumstick. Make sure your stove is ready to use before placing the food.

  1. Put the pan on the stove.
  2. Hold the drumstick over the pan.
  3. Position it until the food’s placement outline turns green.
  4. Use the mouse action labelled Release to place it.

Start cooking

Operate the stove’s control or knob. The tutorial objectives for attaching food and starting cooking should complete when those actions succeed.

Bubbling can begin while the food is still labelled Raw. The effect alone does not mean the chicken is ready.

Read the cooking state

Label What to do
Raw Keep cooking; bubbling alone is not enough
Mid Cooked Continue watching the food’s state
Cooked, shown in green The drumstick has reached the cooked state

Use the label instead of a fixed number of seconds. The cooking state is a better readiness check than elapsed time alone.

What if the meat will not go in the pan?

The green outline and Release prompt show the normal placement target. If you cannot reach that state, the placement problem remains unresolved. Restarting or changing multiplayer settings is not a guaranteed fix.

For a separate survival problem, see how to remove poison.
